Mediterranean Centre for Art, Gardens, Plants and Design resumes courses as the pandemic slowly calms down

Our courses have started again after a two year gap!  In September participants from Israel, France and the UK joined Vincent Jeannerot for Fin D’Ete en Grece, a highly enjoyable week for guests, tutor and staff alike,  The group worked in the large well-ventilated seminar room and produced some stunning work.  A small group of local artists and friends came in on the last day to look at the paintings, learn a little about botanical art and celebrate the new start with a glass of wine.

Three weeks later Karen Stamper from Cambridge led another group from the Netherlands, Malta and the UK who worked on their Concertina Sketchbooks.  The weather followed the same strange pattern as previously in the year but could not dampen spirits.  The highlight was a visit to the Agia Kyriaki boatyard to sketch and paint, as well as have a memorable meal in a fish taverna and take a last dip in the sea.

Our third course on Garden Design is scheduled for the 26th October for 8 days and will be led by Lena Athanasiadou, Vice-President of the Greek Association of Landscape Designers.

All the courses are supported by the Mediterranean Garden Society, an international group of garden and plant enthusiasts based in Athens

In the meantime we hosted three very special vintage cars that had made their way to Pelion from the UK.  The pictures speak for themselves.  The original group was 8 and, like all the courses, had been postponed several times during the pandemic.  We salute the drivers and their passengers who made it to Lagou Raxi after all and we hope to see them back one day – perhaps for the Olympus Rally!
