Access
Lafkos is located on the Pelion peninsula approximately 380 km from Athens, 270 km from Thessaloniki, 343 km from Patras, 353 km from Igoumenitsa and 45 km from Volos.
IMPORTAND INFORMATION:
When you enter Lafkos, please follow the main road until you see a “Lagou Raxi” sign and then turn to the paved road following the signs.
If you are not coming by car, we can arrange a pick from any airport or city.
By car
From Athens: Take the E75 Motorway, direction Lamia. Once you have passed Lamia, you can either exit at the Nea Anghialos/Volos interchange, pass through the city centre and then follow the signs to Argalasti. Or, at the next interchange Velestino/Volos take the ring road all the way to the far eastern end of the city (the road ends here) and follow the Argalasti signs.
From Thessaloniki: Take the E75 Motorway direction Athens/Larissa. Once you passed all three Larissa exits, leave the motorway at the Velestino/Volos interchange and follow the above instructions.
From Patras: cross the Rio-Antirio bridge, go through Nafpaktos, Amfissa, Lamia and then follow the instructions as above.
From Igoumenitsa: Directly from the port, take the Egnatia motorway through Ioannina-Metsovo, exit at Panagia and follow directions to Kalambaka, Trikala, Larisa and then follow the instructions as above.
By Bus: (National Bus Service KTEL)There are 10 buses rides daily from Athens and return and 8 from Thessaloniki and return. The journey from Athens takes 4 hours, with an intermediate 20 minutes stop, whereas from Thessaloniki it takes 2 ½ hours with no stop. From Volos, take the local KTEL bus, direction Platanias http://ktelvolou.gr/en/routes/map/&map=magnesia
By train: There are trains from both Athens and Thessaloniki but you will have to change in Larissa and take a local train to Volos. For more information, check the OSE (National Railway) website www.trainose.gr/en
By plane: Volos is served by the Nea Anghialos airport which operates from April to October with chartered and scheduled flights. The airport is located 30 km from Volos, close to the Almyros Interchange on E75 Motorway. A local KTEL bus runs between the airport and the city in connection to the flights arrivals and departures. Tickets cost € 5,00 one way and at can be purchased at the KTEL booth at just before exiting the baggage claim area. www.volosairport.gr/en/ Car hire is also available at the airports.
If your access is via the Official Helipad of Lafkos it will us great pleasure pick up and drive you the last km to Lagou Raxi Country Hotel.
Alternatively, you can fly into Thessaloniki, Athens or alternatively Skiathos (water taxi to Pelion).
